SmartThings Offline Alerts and Device Connectivity

I’ve been really impressed with SmartThings as a home security solution, but I’ve been wondering about its reliability during power outages or Wi-Fi disruptions. Here’s my thought: if the system goes offline, how do we get notified? It would be great if the app could periodically check the hub’s status and send an alert if it’s offline. This could be a simple feature, like the hub sending a status update to the app.

I’ve also been experimenting with integrating multiple devices from different brands into my SmartThings setup. It’s been a learning process, especially with some devices not being recognized by the hub. For example, I recently tried adding a Wyze Cam v3, and while the app update was straightforward, I had to ensure my firmware was up to date to avoid any connection issues.

Another thing I’ve been curious about is how to optimize battery life for my leak sensors. I’ve heard mixed reviews about battery longevity, and I’d love to hear if others have tips or tricks to extend their sensor life.

Overall, I’m excited about the potential of SmartThings and other smart home devices, but I’d love to see more features that enhance reliability and user experience. If anyone has insights or solutions to these issues, I’d love to hear about them! Let’s keep the conversation going and share our experiences. :rocket:
