I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation over the past few months, and I must say, it’s been an incredible journey! 
My setup includes a variety of devices, including SmartThings motion sensors, power outlets, and some fantastic lighting solutions from Govee. Let me share some of my experiences and insights with you all!
First off, I wanted to address the reliability of SmartThings power outlets as signal repeaters. After doing some research, I discovered that powered devices like these outlets can indeed act as repeaters, which has been a game-changer for my setup. I’ve noticed a significant improvement in the reliability of my motion sensors, especially those located far from my hub and behind multiple walls. This has made my home security system much more dependable, and I’m thrilled with the results!
On the topic of lighting, I’ve recently installed the Govee COB strip light pro under my kitchen cabinets, and the results have been absolutely stunning! 
The warm white light during the evening transitions seamlessly into a soothing fire effect later at night, creating the perfect ambiance for any occasion. I’ve even synced it with my music system, turning our kitchen into a mini-party zone whenever we feel like it! The integration with my smart home system has been smooth, and I couldn’t be happier with this purchase.
One thing I’ve learned along the way is the importance of minimizing interference. By disabling 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and relying solely on 5GHz, I’ve noticed a marked improvement in the performance of my devices. It’s a small tweak, but it makes a world of difference!
