I’m thrilled to share my recent journey setting up SmartThings for my evaporative humidifier automation. As a new SmartThings user, I was initially overwhelmed but quickly realized its potential to enhance my home’s comfort. My goal was to control my Honeywell evaporative humidifier without running wires through three flights of stairs. Instead, I opted for a smart plug and a plugin transformer, aiming to automate the humidifier based on my Ecobee3’s humidity sensors and furnace fan status. While I’m still exploring the best way to retrieve the fan status, I’m excited about the possibilities SmartThings offers. It’s been a rewarding experience, and I can’t wait to see how this automation evolves!
