I recently set up my Yale smart locks and wanted to share my experience in case it helps anyone else! ![]()
First, I was a bit confused about how to get the battery percentage to show up for my touchscreen lock. After some digging, I realized it was a simple setting adjustment in the Alarm.com app. Here’s how I did it:
- Login to Alarm.com: Go to your account and navigate to the emPower section.
- Select Your Locks: Under the locks menu, you should see both your front and back door locks listed.
- Battery Settings: For the touchscreen lock, there’s an option to enable battery percentage display. I had to toggle this setting manually.
Now both my locks show the battery status clearly! ![]()
I also wanted to share a tip for anyone dealing with motion sensors. If your sensor isn’t activating, try checking the firmware first. I updated mine and it made a world of difference. Also, ensure the sensor isn’t too close to the door—it might cause false readings. ![]()
Lastly, if you’re using multiple schedules for motion sensors, I found that creating separate routines in the app works perfectly without cluttering the dashboard. Just set your preferred times and let the smart home magic happen! ![]()
If anyone has questions or needs help with their setup, feel free to reach out! Happy automating! ![]()
