Smooth Transition from Wink to Hubitat: A Satisfying Experience

Hi all, I wanted to share my recent experience migrating from Wink to Hubitat. For years, I relied on my Wink Hub 2, which served me well. However, Wink’s shift to a subscription model made me reconsider, and after some research, I decided to make the switch to Hubitat.

The process was surprisingly straightforward. My setup included smart switches and door sensors, and I followed Hubitat’s documentation to reset each switch and perform a Z-Wave inclusion. Each switch took less than a minute to configure.

One of the best parts was configuring the dashboard. I spent hours customizing it to match my old Wink setup, even adding labels to differentiate floors. Hubitat’s ability to create multiple dashboards and customize which devices appear on each is a huge plus.

Overall, the switch has been liberating. Hubitat’s freedom compared to Wink is evident, and while I haven’t explored the rules engine yet, the basic automation is simple and effective. I’m excited to dive deeper into Hubitat’s features in the coming months. If you’re on the fence, I highly recommend giving it a try!

Happy automating!
