Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with the AutoVoice app and how I managed to resolve a recurring issue that was quite frustrating. I’ve been using Tasker, AutoVoice, SharpTools, and SmartThings to set up voice control around my home, and while I’ve made great progress, there was one persistent problem that kept me up at night—literally!
Every time I turned off my phone’s screen, AutoVoice would throw up a warning saying the ‘AutoVoice Accessibility Service’ wasn’t enabled. This meant I had to go into my phone’s settings, navigate to the accessibility section, and manually re-enable the service. It was incredibly annoying, especially in the middle of the night when I just wanted to adjust the lights or thermostat without fumbling with my phone.
After some research and trial and error, I discovered a solution that worked for me. I found that enabling the ‘Always On Display’ feature on my phone helped keep the accessibility service active even when the screen was off. Additionally, I adjusted some settings within AutoVoice to ensure it was optimized for my specific setup. While it took a bit of tweaking, it was worth it to finally have a seamless voice control experience.
If anyone else is struggling with similar issues, I’d recommend checking out the AutoVoice community forums or reaching out to the developers. They’re usually pretty responsive and have some great troubleshooting tips. Happy automating everyone! ![]()
