Solving Camera Connectivity and Scheduling Issues

Hey everyone! I wanted to share my recent experience with setting up my Arlo cameras and how I managed to overcome some connectivity and scheduling challenges. It’s been quite a journey, but I’m happy to share what worked for me in case it helps someone else.

First, I noticed that my Arlo Q cameras were showing as ‘disconnected’ in the Arlo app, even though they were streaming perfectly through Apple’s Home app. This was a bit confusing, but I discovered that it was likely due to a recent app update. After some research and reaching out to Arlo support, it seems the issue was resolved with a simple firmware update on the cameras. If you’re experiencing similar problems, make sure your cameras are up to date!

Next, I wanted to set up a consistent schedule for my cameras to turn on at night and off in the morning. I had some trouble with the new Arlo app’s scheduling feature, but after some trial and error, I found that creating a schedule with overlapping times worked best. For example, setting the cameras to turn on at 9 PM and stay on until 6 AM, with a brief overlap at midnight, ensured they were active throughout the night without any gaps.

I also wanted to share a handy tip for anyone using HomeKit. If you’re having trouble with camera connectivity in third-party apps, double-checking the camera’s settings in the Home app can help ensure everything is connected properly. It’s a small thing, but it made a big difference for me!

Overall, while there were a few bumps along the way, taking the time to troubleshoot and experiment paid off. My cameras are now running smoothly, and I feel more confident about my home security setup. If anyone has questions or needs advice, feel free to ask—I’m happy to help!

Happy smart home tinkering everyone! :rocket:
