Solving Camera Preview Issues on Google Home

Hey everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of smart home cameras and wanted to share my experience with the Reolink Smart 4K UHD Pan& Tilt camera. It’s been a bit of a journey, but I’m excited to share how I got everything working smoothly!

Initially, I set up the camera and linked it to my Google account. Everything was working perfectly on my end, but my wife couldn’t view the camera on her devices. She could see the device in the Google Home app, but there was no preview. I tried everything—relinking the camera, resetting her account, even reinstalling the Google Home app. Nothing worked!

Frustrated but determined, I started digging through forums and support articles. I came across a few suggestions about device permissions and sharing settings. After some trial and error, I realized the issue was with how the camera was shared within our Google account. By adjusting the sharing settings and ensuring both of our accounts had the correct permissions, the camera preview finally showed up on her devices!

This experience taught me the importance of double-checking permissions and sharing settings, especially when multiple users are involved. It also highlighted how helpful the community is—without those forum posts, I might still be stuck!

Now, with everything working smoothly, we’ve set up some awesome automations. The camera’s motion detection triggers a notification on our phones, and we even have it integrated with our smart lights for added security. It’s been a game-changer for our home security setup!

If anyone else is struggling with camera previews or sharing issues, I’d recommend checking your Google Home sharing settings and ensuring all permissions are correctly configured. Happy smart home tinkering everyone! :hammer_and_wrench:
