Solving Garage Automation Without Wi-Fi

Hey everyone! I wanted to share my recent adventure in setting up a smart garage without relying on Wi-Fi. Let me start by saying, it was a bit of a puzzle, but I managed to crack it! :jigsaw:

So, the challenge was to get my Shelly 1 Gen3 working with a Shelly BLU Button in the garage, which has no Wi-Fi. At first, it seemed impossible because everything I found online mentioned using the cloud. But hey, I’m not one to give up easily! :rocket:

After some research and trial and error, I discovered that the Shelly 1 can be configured in a local network mode. By setting up a direct connection between the Shelly 1 and the BLU Button, I was able to create a system where pressing the button triggers the contact on the Shelly 1 to close for exactly 2 seconds before opening again. It’s a simple setup, but it works like a charm! :electric_plug::sparkles:

What’s even better is that this setup doesn’t require any internet, making it perfect for areas like garages where Wi-Fi isn’t an option. It’s been running smoothly for weeks now, and I couldn’t be happier with the result. :tada:

If anyone else is facing similar challenges, I’d love to hear your stories or tips! Let’s keep the creativity flowing in the smart home community! :bulb::sparkles:
