Solving Google Assistant Device Duplication Issue

Hey everyone, I just wanted to share my experience with integrating Google Assistant into my Home Assistant setup. I recently followed the official guide to set up Google Assistant, and while it worked seamlessly for the most part, I noticed some devices were showing up twice in my Google Home app. Specifically, my Tuya-connected devices were appearing both through the Tuya integration and directly via Google Home. This duplication was a bit confusing, but I figured out a way to streamline things!

After some research, I discovered that the issue was due to Google Assistant pulling all devices from Home Assistant by default. To fix this, I adjusted the integration settings to ensure only devices from my Zigbee2MQTT setup were imported. This not only eliminated the duplicates but also made my Google Home interface much cleaner and easier to navigate.

If anyone else is experiencing similar issues, I’d recommend checking the integration settings in Home Assistant and adjusting the filters accordingly. It’s a minor tweak that makes a big difference!

Overall, I’m really happy with how Google Assistant is working alongside my other smart devices. The integration has definitely enhanced my daily routine, and troubleshooting this small hiccup was a great learning experience. Cheers to the smart home community for all the helpful resources out there!
