I recently encountered an issue where my Z-Wave humidity sensor was displaying values without the percentage sign, which was a bit confusing. Instead of seeing ‘44%’, it just showed ‘44’. After some research, I found that adding display metadata with the ‘%’ unit fixed the issue, but I still wanted to ensure the data was correctly interpreted as a percentage value.
This got me thinking about how others handle similar sensor data formatting. For instance, I’ve seen posts where users want to format large numbers with commas, like turning ‘10283.0’ into ‘10,283’. I wonder if there’s a universal approach or template that can handle both percentage conversions and number formatting.
