Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with the Wyze camera motion detection feature. I recently installed a Wyze cam outdoor on my porch, and while it was working fine initially, I noticed that the motion detection wasn’t picking up movement in certain areas of the frame. Specifically, the right 20% of the frame wasn’t detecting motion at all, even when I stood right there and moved around. The sensitivity was set to maximum, so I was pretty confused about why it wasn’t working as expected.
I did some research and found that others were experiencing similar issues. I tried adjusting the green zone settings, but that didn’t seem to help. I also noticed that the camera was giving me a lot of false positives outside of the green zone, which was pretty annoying. I submitted a support ticket, but after a few days without a response, I decided to take matters into my own hands.
After some trial and error, I discovered that manually adjusting the camera’s position and tweaking the motion sensitivity settings made a huge difference. I also found that using the Wyze app’s advanced settings to customize the motion zones more precisely helped eliminate the false positives. It was a bit frustrating at first, but problem-solving always feels rewarding once you crack it!
I wanted to share this experience because I know how frustrating it can be when devices don’t perform as expected. Hopefully, this tip helps someone else who’s struggling with similar issues. If anyone has additional tips or insights, I’d love to hear them! ![]()
