Recently, I encountered a frustrating issue with my Arlo Pro 5 cameras after a firmware update. The problem began immediately after updating to version 1.060.35.0_26_fe51ebd. While the cameras worked perfectly on battery power, they stopped functioning when connected to continuous power. Live view and motion detection would cease after a few hours, requiring a manual restart to resume operation.I started by troubleshooting the most obvious factors: Wi-Fi connection, camera settings, and firmware version. The cameras remained connected to the network, and the issue persisted regardless of whether they were connected via the Arlo SmartHub or directly to Wi-Fi. I tested different charging cables and power sources, but the problem remained unchanged. Determined to resolve the issue, I reached out to Arlo support and explored online forums for similar experiences. It turned out that several other users had encountered the same problem after the firmware update. This confirmed that the issue was likely a bug introduced in the latest firmware version. After weeks of frustration, I discovered a temporary workaround: disabling the firmware update on the affected cameras. By doing so, the cameras reverted to the previous firmware version, and the issue was resolved. This solution allowed me to continue using my cameras without the constant need for manual restarts.I understand that this is not a permanent fix, and I hope Arlo will release an updated firmware to address this issue. In the meantime, I am relieved to have found a workaround that restores the functionality of my cameras. This experience taught me the importance of thorough testing before firmware updates and the value of community support in troubleshooting technical issues. I am grateful to the Arlo community for their shared insights and hope that this post can help others facing similar challenges.
