Solving the Indoor Chime Issue with Wyze Video Doorbell

I recently installed the Wyze Video Doorbell (Wired) and was thrilled with its video feed and notifications. However, one thing was bugging me—there was no sound inside the house when the doorbell was pressed. I didn’t want to deal with my old 7-wire chime system, which was hidden behind the drywall, so I decided to figure out how to get the indoor chime working with the Wyze doorbell. After some research and trial and error, I found a simple solution! The Wyze doorbell comes with a small chime unit that can be plugged into an interior wall. By connecting this chime to the doorbell’s wiring, I was able to get the indoor sound working perfectly. Here’s how I did it:

  1. Locate the Chime Unit: The Wyze doorbell package includes a small chime unit. This is the key to getting the indoor sound working.
  2. Connect the Wires: I connected the chime unit to the existing wiring from the doorbell. The wiring was already set up, so it was just a matter of attaching the chime’s wires to the correct terminals.
  3. Test It Out: After connecting everything, I tested the doorbell from outside. The video feed worked as usual, and I was thrilled to hear the chime inside the house!

This solution was much simpler than I initially thought. It saved me from dealing with the old chime system and gave me the functionality I wanted. If you’re having the same issue, I highly recommend checking if your doorbell came with a chime unit and giving this method a try. It’s a great way to enhance your home security setup without any major rewiring. Happy smart home tweaking everyone! :tada:
