Solving the Mystery of the Offline Doorbell

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with my Arlo Essential Doorbell and Chime 2 after they suddenly went offline. It was quite the puzzle, but I’m thrilled to say I figured it out! :tada:

For about 10 days, my doorbell and chime were offline despite being connected to my Wi-Fi. I tried everything—rebooting routers, factory resetting devices, even replacing the router twice. Nothing worked. I was really stuck until I remembered that my internet provider, Xfinity, had done a planned outage for upgrades. Little did I know, this outage caused some hidden issues with my network.

After a lot of troubleshooting, I convinced Xfinity to send a technician. Turns out, there was some noise on the network lines that was interfering with my Arlo devices. The solution? A simple $20 Moca Filter installed on my cable line. Within minutes, everything connected perfectly!

This experience taught me the importance of checking with my internet provider when devices act up. It also highlighted how even small, affordable solutions can make a big difference. I’m so grateful to that technician who went above and beyond to help me out.

If anyone else is struggling with similar issues, I highly recommend checking for network noise and considering a Moca Filter. It might just be the fix you’re looking for! :star2:

Happy smart home tinkering! :hammer_and_wrench:
