I recently encountered an interesting challenge with my Niko Zigbee modules, and I wanted to share my experience and solution with the community. It all started when I was trying to add several Niko modules to my setup, including double light switches and socket outlets. After successfully adding around 30 modules, I ran into a problem where the next module wouldn’t pair, and all the previously working modules started flashing red lights. This was quite puzzling, especially since I had placed the modules within the recommended 2-4 meter range of my Home Pro hub.
At first, I was a bit concerned, thinking that I might have lost the network connection or damaged the modules somehow. After doing some research, I discovered that the red flashing lights typically indicate a network issue. However, since all my modules were within range, I knew there had to be another factor at play.
I decided to experiment with the network configuration. One approach I tried was resetting the network and re-adding the modules one by one. This worked for the first few modules, but the problem resurfaced once I reached a certain number. This led me to believe that the issue might be related to the network load or interference.
After some trial and error, I found that the problem was likely caused by signal interference from other devices in my home. To mitigate this, I tried changing the Zigbee channel on my Home Pro hub. This simple adjustment made a significant difference, and I was able to successfully add all the modules without any further issues.
This experience taught me the importance of monitoring network health and being proactive in adjusting settings to optimize performance. If you’re encountering similar issues, I’d recommend checking for interference, resetting the network, and experimenting with different Zigbee channels. It might save you a lot of frustration and time!
I’d love to hear if anyone else has faced similar challenges and how they resolved them. Let’s keep the community knowledge flowing! ![]()
