Solving Zigbee Range Issues with Conbee II

I wanted to share my experience in resolving a persistent issue with my Zigbee network setup. After setting up my Conbee II stick on a Raspberry Pi 3, I noticed that certain devices on the second floor were experiencing connectivity problems. Specifically, my OSRAM smartplugs and Aqara window sensors were intermittently unavailable or showing incorrect statuses.

After some research and troubleshooting, I realized the issue was likely due to the limited range of the Zigbee signal. To address this, I considered adding a WiFi Stick as an alternative solution, but I was concerned about potential interference between the two devices.

Instead, I decided to experiment with the placement of my Conbee II stick. After moving it to a more central location in my home, I noticed a significant improvement in device connectivity. The smartplugs and window sensors now function reliably, and the temperature readings from the Aqara sensors seem more accurate.

This experience taught me the importance of optimal placement for Zigbee devices and the value of persistence in troubleshooting. I’m now confident in my setup and excited to expand my Zigbee network further. If anyone has similar issues or tips for improving Zigbee range, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
