I’ve recently installed two SONOFF door sensors in my garage to automate the lights when I open the door in the evening. It’s been working well, but I’ve noticed that once I close the door, the lights automatically switch off. While I could install a PIR motion detector as a workaround, I’m curious if there’s a way to keep the lights on for a preset duration after the door closes. This would be especially helpful during those late-night trips when I might need a bit more time to find my keys or grab something from the garage.
Additionally, I’d love to set up the sensors to send an email notification when the door is opened. This could serve as a basic intrusion detection system, alerting me if the garage door is opened unexpectedly. I’m currently running everything on a dedicated mini-PC system using a Conbee II stick, so I’m hoping there’s a way to integrate this functionality within that setup.
If anyone has experience with similar setups or knows of a reliable method to achieve this, I’d greatly appreciate any advice or tips. It’s amazing how these small tweaks can really enhance the convenience and security of a smart home setup! ![]()
