Hi everyone! I’m diving into the world of smart home automation and I’m trying to set up a system using my Sonoff devices. I’ve got a Sonoff PIR sensor, a Sonoff T1 light switch, and the Sonoff Bridge. My goal is to automate the lights in my hallway so they turn on when motion is detected and stay on as long as someone is moving around. Here’s what I’m aiming for:
- When the PIR detects motion, the T1 light should turn on for 10 minutes.
- If motion is detected again within those 10 minutes, the timer should reset to 10 minutes.
- If someone manually turns the light on, it should stay on indefinitely.
I’ve tried setting this up using the Ewelink app, but it doesn’t quite work as expected. The light turns on when motion is detected, but the timer doesn’t reset when motion is detected again. It just turns off after the initial 10 minutes. I’ve also tried using a scene in the app, but it doesn’t seem to handle the timer reset functionality properly.
I’ve heard that Home Assistant might be the way to go for more advanced automation, but I’m not familiar with it yet. I’m willing to give it a try if someone can guide me through the setup. Does anyone have experience with similar automation using Sonoff devices? Any tips or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
I’m really excited to get this working, and I think it would make a big difference in how convenient my home is. Thanks in advance for any help or advice you can offer!
