Spirit Z-Wave Plus Thermostat: Success with External Temperature Sensor

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent success with integrating an external temperature sensor with my Spirit Z-Wave Plus radiator thermostat. This journey started with a bit of confusion, but thanks to the community, it turned into a satisfying victory!

Initially, I was puzzled about how to send temperature data to the thermostat. After some research, I discovered that the thermostat can receive temperature readings from other Z-Wave devices, but this feature requires enabling specific configuration parameters. I updated the temperature offset to 128, as recommended in the documentation, but I was still unsure how to send the temperature data effectively.

I reached out to the community, and someone suggested using the HABmin GUI to check for available channels. After some trial and error, I found the right channel and managed to send the temperature data successfully. The thermostat now regulates the temperature based on the external sensor, which is a huge improvement for my setup!

This experience taught me the importance of digging into device documentation and leveraging community knowledge. It also highlighted how powerful these devices can be when properly configured. If anyone else is struggling with similar issues, don’t hesitate to ask for help—this community is amazing!

Thanks to everyone who contributed to solving this puzzle. Here’s to more smart home successes! :tada:
