Spring Cleaning and Smart Home Tips

.Spring is here, and I’ve been diving into some smart home projects to freshen things up! :herb: I’ve been experimenting with my Govee LED strip lights to create a vibrant Easter display, and it’s been a fun way to brighten up the house. :rabbit: I even set up a timer so the lights change colors every few minutes—perfect for keeping the kids entertained! :tada:

While I was at it, I noticed a weird issue with my Echo Dots. They kept showing up as phantom devices in the Alexa app, even though they weren’t there. It was super frustrating, but I finally figured it out by going into the device settings and manually deactivating them. If anyone else is dealing with this, I’d recommend checking the device list in settings—it might save you some time! :hammer_and_wrench:

Another thing I’ve been tinkering with is my Leviton dimmer switches. I wanted to set up a scene where both dimmers work together, but I wasn’t sure how to sync them. After some research, I found that creating a custom automation in the app worked like a charm! Now, I can adjust both lights at once with just one tap. If anyone else is looking to do something similar, I’d love to share the steps I took. :bulb:

If you’ve got any smart home tips or fun project ideas, I’d love to hear them! Let’s keep the brainstorming going—spring is the perfect time for a fresh start! :seedling:
