Spring Smart Home Setup and Philips Hue Lightstrip Plus Experience

Spring is the perfect time to refresh my smart home setup, and I wanted to share some of my recent experiences and tips with the community. First off, I recently installed the Philips Hue Lightstrip Plus in my living room, and it’s been a game-changer for ambiance and functionality. The ability to bend, trim, and extend the strip has allowed me to customize it perfectly for my space. Pairing it with Alexa for voice control has made it even more seamless to adjust lighting on the go. I’ve also been experimenting with scheduling lights to turn on with the sunrise, which has been a delightful way to start the day.

On the other hand, I’ve encountered a minor issue with my ESPHome Bluetooth Proxie setup. After installing it on an ESP32, I noticed that no devices were being detected or passed to Home Assistant. After some research, I discovered that the ESP32’s Bluetooth capabilities are limited and might not support all BLE devices. I’m now looking into alternative hardware solutions and would appreciate any recommendations or insights from the community.

Another highlight of my spring refresh has been setting up motion-activated lights in my backyard. It’s amazing how this simple addition has enhanced both safety and convenience. I’ve also been enjoying the warmer weather by setting up a smart lighting system for my outdoor seating area, which I control through my phone.

If anyone has tips on optimizing motion sensor accuracy or suggestions for less obtrusive PTZ cameras, I’d love to hear them! Overall, it’s been a productive and enjoyable process, and I’m excited to continue exploring new ways to integrate technology into my home. Happy spring to all!
