St. Patrick's Day Lighting Setup and Smart Home Integration

St. Patrick’s Day is one of my favorite times of year to get creative with my home lighting! :four_leaf_clover: This year, I decided to fully embrace the theme by setting up some festive green and gold LED effects throughout my house. I’m using a mix of Govee and Fibaro devices to create the perfect ambiance, and it’s been a fun project to tackle. Here’s a quick rundown of what I’ve done: - Outdoor Lighting: I started with some simple outdoor decorations, even though it’s not technically outdoor lighting. The green lights twinkle beautifully from the front porch, giving the house a festive glow. - Indoor Setup: Inside, I’ve programmed my Govee LED strips to cycle through different green and gold effects. It’s amazing how much these small touches can transform the space! One thing I’ve been experimenting with is integrating my lighting scenes with motion sensors. I have a Fibaro binary sensor connected to an RFID panel, and it’s been a great way to automate the lighting when guests arrive. Every time someone uses the RFID tag, the lights switch to a preset St. Patrick’s Day theme. It’s a subtle touch, but it really adds to the festive feeling. I’ve also been exploring how to toggle scenes based on motion detection. If the sensor detects motion, it activates the festive lighting scene. If the scene is already active, it deactivates instead. It’s a simple automation, but it’s been working beautifully so far. This project has reminded me just how much fun it is to experiment with smart home setups. Whether it’s for holidays or everyday use, there’s always something new to try. If you’re looking for inspiration, I’d recommend checking out some of the awesome lighting effects available for Govee devices—they’re perfect for creating immersive home experiences. Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone! :four_leaf_clover::sparkles:
