Stabilizing My Z-Wave Network with Aeotec Gen 7 Range Extender

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent success with improving my Z-Wave network using the Aeotec Gen 7 Range Extender. I’ve been struggling with a unstable network for quite some time, and it was starting to feel like a lost cause. Devices would frequently drop off the network, and reassigning them was a constant headache. I even considered selling all my Z-Wave devices, especially after realizing how expensive they can be compared to other options. But I decided to give it one last try with the Aeotec Gen 7, and I’m so glad I did!

After installing the Range Extender in a central location, the improvement was almost immediate. All my devices now maintain a stable connection through the extender, and the network is finally reliable. It’s been a huge relief, and I’m really happy with the results.

One thing I’m still curious about is whether others have experienced similar issues with NeoCoolcam PIR sensors. Specifically, I’ve noticed that the battery percentage and luminance readings occasionally drop out during updates. It seems like a bug, but I’m not entirely sure. The network heal runs at 2 AM, and the wake-up interval is set to 12 hours. Does anyone have any tips on how to prevent these sensor values from disappearing? I’d love to hear your experiences and solutions!

Thanks to everyone who’s shared their knowledge and advice in this community. It’s been really helpful, and I’m excited to continue learning and improving my smart home setup. If anyone else has had similar experiences or has advice to share, I’d love to hear it!
