I’ve been experimenting with Node-RED to create a seamless home automation system, and I’m thrilled to share my journey! 
After spending hours researching and setting up, I finally managed to integrate my thermostat, lights, and security cameras into a cohesive system. The best part? Everything is now controlled through a simple dashboard on my phone! 
Here’s a quick overview of what I did:
- Thermostat Integration: I connected my thermostat to Node-RED using REST API. Now, I can adjust the temperature from anywhere, and it even learns my preferences over time!
- Smart Lighting: I set up a routine where my lights dim automatically when I watch TV and brighten when I’m reading. It’s like having a personal lighting assistant!
- Security Alerts: My security cameras now send real-time notifications to my phone. It’s comforting to know I can monitor my home even when I’m away.
While the setup was a bit challenging, especially figuring out the right flows, the end result has been worth every minute of effort. 
The best part is how customizable everything is—I can tweak settings anytime to suit my needs!
