Struggling with Camera Auto-Snapshots: Seeking Solutions

Hey everyone, I’ve been using this Auto Snapshots on Motion blueprint for a while now, and it’s been a great addition to my setup. The idea of getting instant snapshots whenever motion is detected is fantastic, but I’m running into some issues that I can’t quite figure out. I wanted to reach out and see if anyone else has encountered similar problems or might have some insights.

So, here’s what’s happening: I have a mix of Nest cameras and Blue Iris cameras integrated into my system. After a fresh restart, everything works like a charm for about half a day. But then, it starts to get hit or miss. Sometimes the notifications come through, and other times they don’t. When they do, the image is often from hours before the actual event. It’s pretty frustrating because I rely on these snapshots to keep an eye on things while I’m away.

I’ve checked the logs, and there are consistent errors related to stream issues. For the Blue Iris cameras, I see messages like ‘Stream ended; no additional packets’ or ‘Error opening stream (EXIT, Immediate exit requested)’. For the Nest cameras, it’s mostly ‘HTTP_NOT_FOUND’ errors when trying to access the stream. I’m not sure if this is a configuration issue on my end or if it’s something inherent to how the cameras or the blueprint are handling the streams.

I’ve tried tweaking some settings, like adjusting the preloaded stream option, but that hasn’t made much of a difference. I’m also wondering if there’s a more reliable way to handle the snapshots, perhaps by using a different method altogether or adjusting how the cameras are configured in Home Assistant.

If anyone has experienced similar issues or has found a workaround, I’d love to hear about it. Maybe there’s a setting I’m missing or a different approach that could stabilize the system. Thanks in advance for any help or advice you can offer!
