Successful Automation Setup with Aqara Switches and Philips Hue

Hey everyone! I wanted to share my recent success with setting up an automation using Aqara wireless switches and Philips Hue lights. It’s been a fantastic experience, and I thought I’d walk through my setup and some tips for others who might be looking to do something similar.

I started by integrating an Aqara wireless switch with my Philips Hue lights. The setup was straightforward, and I was able to create a simple automation where pressing the switch once turns on the lights in ‘work mode,’ providing bright, focused light. Double-tapping the switch switches the lights to an RGB mode, perfect for creating a cozy atmosphere in the evenings.

The best part? It works seamlessly! Whether the lights are on or off, a single press toggles the state, and double-tapping always switches to RGB mode. I was initially concerned about compatibility, but the integration has been flawless.

However, I did run into a minor issue when adding Govee lights to the same automation. They didn’t respond as expected, always defaulting to RGB mode instead of the desired work mode. After some trial and error with different settings and the Matter integration, I managed to get them working correctly. It was a bit of a puzzle, but solving it made the whole setup feel even more rewarding.

For anyone looking to set up something similar, my advice is to take it step by step. Start with one device, test the automation, and then gradually add more. Don’t hesitate to tweak settings and experiment—it’s all part of the learning process!

Overall, I’m thrilled with how everything is working. It’s made my home feel smarter and more connected, and I can’t wait to explore more automation possibilities in the future. Happy tinkering everyone! :rocket:
