Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent success with integrating the Frient MOSZB-141 motion sensors into my smart home setup. After some research and a few hiccups, I managed to get them working seamlessly with my Zigbee Home Automation integration. Here’s what I learned:
-
Pairing Process: Initially, I faced some issues where the sensors wouldn’t connect properly. After some troubleshooting, I realized that a full reboot of my Home Assistant instance was necessary. Once that was done, the sensors paired without any problems.
-
Entities and Functionality: The entities that worked out of the box were the Motion detected and cleared, as well as the first Occupancy detected and cleared. The occupancy cleared feature is particularly useful, as it automatically turns off the lights after 4 minutes of no movement, which is perfect for outdoor lighting.
-
Limitations: Some entities like Binary input, Occupancy_1, and Occupancy_2 didn’t function as expected. Additionally, the Battery and Identify features didn’t work. To keep things clean, I disabled these entities in the Home Assistant interface.
-
Recommendation: If you’re considering these sensors, especially if you’re looking for a budget-friendly option, I highly recommend them. Just be prepared for a bit of trial and error, and don’t hesitate to reach out to the community for support.
It’s amazing how these little devices can enhance your home’s security and convenience. A huge thank you to the community for all the helpful tips and guides that made this possible! ![]()
