Successful Integration of Shelly Devices for Garage Automation

I’m thrilled to share my recent success in integrating Shelly devices into my garage automation setup! After some research and experimentation, I managed to connect my Shelly Plus 1 and Shelly i4 with my Marantec CS300 controller to automate my garage door. The process was a bit challenging at first, but the results are fantastic!

The Shelly Plus 1 controls the door opening and closing seamlessly, and I can now monitor the door’s status through the Shelly app. I also set up a virtual switch in Home Assistant to toggle the door remotely. For the Shelly i4, I wired it to detect the door’s closed state using relay 5 and even added a light indicator for when the door is opening, using relay 4. It’s amazing how one device can handle both functions!

One thing I learned is to carefully check the wiring diagrams and ensure the relays are correctly configured. I also found that using the Shelly’s built-in automation rules made the setup much smoother. The integration with Home Assistant has been seamless, and I can now control everything from my phone or through voice commands.

This project has been a great way to enhance my home’s security and convenience. I’m now looking into adding more smart features to my garage, like motion sensors and lighting automation. If anyone has tips or experiences to share, I’d love to hear them!

Overall, I’m really impressed with how well the Shelly devices work together and with other systems. It’s definitely worth exploring if you’re looking to automate your garage or any other space in your home.
