Successful Integration of Shelly Plus 2PM with Serial Switch

After spending several hours researching and experimenting, I finally managed to successfully integrate my Shelly Plus 2PM with a serial switch (S1) to control two lamps (Lamp 01 and Lamp 02). The process was a bit challenging, but I want to share my experience in case others are facing similar issues or looking for a solution.

First, I connected the Shelly Plus 2PM according to the wiring diagram I found online. The key was ensuring that the serial switch was correctly configured to allow both manual switching and automation through the Shelly app. Initially, I encountered some issues where the Shelly device didn’t respond to the switch’s state changes. After some troubleshooting, I realized that the switch type settings in the Shelly app needed adjustment.

I tried different button-type configurations in the app, and eventually, setting it to ‘toggle’ mode worked perfectly. This allowed the Shelly device to recognize both the on and off states of the serial switch. Now, I can control both lamps seamlessly through the app, and the manual switch still functions as expected.

I also considered upgrading to a Shelly 1 if the Plus model didn’t work, but fortunately, it wasn’t necessary. This experience taught me the importance of thoroughly checking device settings and not being afraid to experiment with different configurations.

For anyone else looking to integrate Shelly devices with serial switches, I recommend starting with the basic configurations and gradually testing more advanced settings. The community support here has been invaluable, and I’m grateful for the resources and advice shared by others.

Happy tinkering! :rocket:
