Hello everyone, I wanted to share my recent success in integrating several smart devices into my home setup. After some trial and error, I managed to get everything working smoothly, and I thought it might be helpful to share my experiences and tips with you all.
First, I encountered some challenges with the Shelly Plug S devices not being recognized by the Shelly app. After some research and testing, I found that resetting the devices and ensuring they were properly connected to the network resolved the issue. If you’re facing similar problems, I recommend checking the firmware updates and ensuring your network settings are optimized.
Another hurdle I faced was upgrading my OpenHAB instance from version 2.4 to 2.5. Initially, I encountered errors related to configuration files, but after carefully reviewing the logs and adjusting the configuration, everything ran smoothly. If you’re planning an upgrade, I suggest backing up your current setup and reviewing the release notes for any breaking changes.
I also wanted to mention the Aeotec Nano Single Switches I recently installed. While they work perfectly in terms of functionality, I noticed that their state doesn’t persist after a power outage. To address this, I adjusted the advanced settings to ensure the switches remain in the ‘Always On’ state post-reboot. If you’re experiencing similar issues, tweaking these settings might be the solution.
