After a bit of trial and error, I successfully integrated my Wyze Cam 3 into my smart home setup, and I wanted to share my experience in case it helps others! ![]()
My Setup:
I have a Wyze Cam 3 installed in my backyard, and I wanted it to detect motion and send alerts to my phone. Initially, I was frustrated because the camera wasn’t detecting any motion, even though I knew there was plenty of activity in the area. ![]()

What I Did:
- Checked Motion Settings: I realized that the default motion sensitivity might not be enough. I adjusted the sensitivity settings in the Wyze app to a higher level and set specific times when motion detection should be active.

- Positioning: I made sure the camera was positioned correctly to cover the areas I wanted to monitor. Sometimes, small adjustments make a big difference!

- Firmware Update: I also updated the camera’s firmware to ensure it was running the latest version. This seemed to improve performance overall.

- Integration with Smart Home: Using the Wyze app, I set up notifications to go directly to my phone. I also integrated the camera with my smart hub so that detected motion triggers other devices, like my outdoor lights.

Outcome:
Now, the camera reliably detects motion and sends alerts. It’s been a great addition to my smart home setup, and I feel much more secure knowing it’s monitoring my backyard. ![]()
Tips for Others:

- Make sure the camera has a clear view of the area you want to monitor.
- Regular firmware updates can often solve unexpected issues.

I’m really happy with how this turned out, and I’m excited to explore more features of the Wyze Cam 3! If anyone has questions or wants tips, feel free to ask. ![]()
