I wanted to share my recent success in integrating my Zigbee color bulbs with Google Home. I had a bit of trouble initially, but it turned out to be a learning experience. I started by adding five bulbs to my Hubitat setup and created a light group called ‘Family Room Lights’. The goal was to have seamless control through both Hubitat and Google Home.
At first, only one bulb showed up in Google Home, which was frustrating. After some research, I realized the issue was with the device type I had selected. I had mistakenly chosen ‘Sengled Element Plus’ for one bulb, while the others were set to ‘Sengled Element Color Plus’. Changing all bulbs to ‘Generic ZigBee RGBW Light’ resolved the problem, and now all bulbs appear in Google Home.
This experience taught me the importance of selecting the correct device type, even if it seems minor. It’s fascinating how a small detail can impact the entire setup. I’m now confident in my ability to integrate more devices smoothly. If anyone else is facing similar issues, double-checking device types and ensuring they match can make a world of difference! ![]()
