I recently embarked on a project to set up a smart monitoring screen in my office, and I wanted to share my experience with the community. The goal was to use a 10-inch Android tablet running Tinycam as the camera source and connect it to a small monitor via a powered hub. Initially, I faced some challenges with power supply and display issues, but after some research and testing, I found a reliable setup that works perfectly.
The key components I used were a powered USB hub with DisplayPort support and a small 7-inch monitor. I also ensured that the tablet was receiving enough power by using a high-quality USB cable. After tweaking the settings on the tablet and the monitor, everything fell into place. The video feed from Tinycam is now clearly displayed, and I can monitor my office remotely with ease.
This setup has been incredibly useful for me, especially for keeping an eye on my workspace while I’m away. I’d love to hear if anyone else has tried something similar or has tips for improving this setup further. It’s always great to learn from others’ experiences!
