Successfully Capturing Rodents with Blink Mini Camera

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with the Blink Mini camera and how I finally managed to capture those elusive rodents. For weeks, I was frustrated because the camera wasn’t picking up any activity, even though I knew the rodents were frequent visitors. They were regularly consuming the bait I set out, but I couldn’t get a single clip of them. The camera’s motion detection seemed to miss them entirely, which was really frustrating. After some research, I realized that the camera’s default settings might not be sensitive enough for quick movements. Rodents can be pretty fast, and if they’re just stopping to nibble, the motion might be too brief for the camera to detect. I decided to tweak the settings to see if that would help. I adjusted the motion sensitivity to the highest level and set the detection zone to focus on the area where the bait was placed. To my delight, it worked! The next day, I found several clips of the rodents stopping by. It was a relief to finally get some footage. I also noticed that the angle of the camera played a role. By slightly adjusting the camera’s position, I could get a better view of the bait station, ensuring that any movement there would be captured.I’d like to share a few tips for anyone else struggling with similar issues:- Adjust Sensitivity: Don’t hesitate to increase the motion sensitivity settings. Sometimes, the default isn’t enough for smaller, faster animals.- Focus Detection Zones: Narrow down the detection zone to the specific area you’re monitoring. This can help reduce false positives and ensure you capture the activity you care about.- Experiment with Angles: A small adjustment in the camera’s position can make a big difference in what it captures. It’s been a fun project, and now I have the satisfaction of knowing exactly what’s going on in my yard. If anyone has any other tips or experiences, I’d love to hear them! Let’s help each other out and make the most of our smart home devices.
