Hey everyone! I wanted to share my recent experience configuring Leviton DZMX and VRMX switches in OpenZwave. Initially, I was a bit puzzled because the DZMX switches were showing up as ‘Unknown’ and the VRMX switches weren’t fully recognized. After some research, I reached out to Leviton and they provided some XML files from the Z-Wave Alliance website. I was a bit concerned about the format, but after placing them in the correct directory and updating the configuration files, everything started working smoothly!
Here’s what I did:
- Placed the XML files in
/srv/hass/hass_venv/lib/python3.4/site-packages/libopenzwave-0.3.1-py3.4-linux-armv7l.egg/config/Leviton/ - Updated the product configuration in the XML files to match the device types
- Restarted OpenZwave to ensure the changes took effect
It’s amazing how a little troubleshooting can make such a difference! If anyone else is having issues with Leviton devices, I highly recommend checking the Z-Wave Alliance resources and adjusting the XML configurations accordingly. Happy automating everyone!
