Successfully Configuring My Wyze Cam v2 for RTSP Streaming

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with setting up my Wyze Cam v2 for RTSP streaming. I’ve been trying to get this working for a while now, and I finally figured it out! I hope this helps someone else who’s struggling with the same issue.First, I’ll start by explaining the problem I was facing. I had successfully installed the RTSP firmware on my Wyze Cam v2, but I couldn’t get Blue Iris or ContaCam to recognize the RTSP stream. I double-checked my settings, username, and password multiple times, but nothing worked. It was really frustrating because the app worked fine on my phone, but I couldn’t get it to work with my other security software. After some research, I found out that the RTSP firmware for Wyze Cams has been updated recently, and there were some changes in how it handles streaming. I decided to try reinstalling the firmware, but this time I made sure to follow the instructions carefully. I also reached out to some members in the Wyze community forum for advice, and they suggested checking the firewall settings on my router. It turns out my router’s firewall was blocking the RTSP ports, which was why the stream wasn’t working.Once I adjusted the firewall settings, I retried the RTSP configuration in Blue Iris. To my delight, it worked perfectly! I was able to view the live stream without any issues. I also tested it with ContaCam, and it worked there too. It was such a relief to finally get everything sorted out.I want to emphasize the importance of checking your router’s firewall settings when dealing with streaming issues. Sometimes, it’s not the camera or the firmware that’s causing the problem, but rather the network configuration. I also recommend reaching out to the community forums for support because there are a lot of helpful people who are more than willing to assist. In summary, my journey to getting RTSP streaming working on my Wyze Cam v2 taught me the value of persistence and the importance of checking all possible angles when troubleshooting. I hope this post helps someone else avoid the frustration I went through and find a solution more quickly.
