Hello fellow OpenHAB enthusiasts!
I wanted to share my recent experience with upgrading to OpenHAB 3.3.0.M3 and configuring my Z-Wave devices. Prior to the upgrade, I was running OpenHAB 3.1.0, and my five TZWP-102 devices were operating flawlessly along with all other Z-Wave devices. However, after the upgrade, I encountered an issue where none of the TZWP-102 devices were initializing properly. All other devices continued to function without any problems, which was both frustrating and intriguing.
The error message I received was ‘Status: UNINITIALIZED HANDLER_CONFIGURATION_PENDING’ with a specific issue related to Parameter 16. Initially, I assumed there might be a default value causing the trouble since the parameter wasn’t assigned in the UI. After some research and troubleshooting, I decided to downgrade to a prior, stable version of OpenHAB to ensure my system’s reliability while waiting for a potential fix.
This experience taught me the importance of thorough testing and documentation when upgrading software, especially in a home automation setup where even a minor issue can disrupt daily routines. I’m hopeful that the OpenHAB community will address this bug soon, and I’m eager to contribute any insights I gain during this process.
If anyone has encountered similar issues or has advice on resolving them, I’d love to hear your thoughts! Happy automating!
