Hey everyone, I just wanted to share my success story in connecting my 1st Gen device to the Alexa app! It was a bit of a challenge, but I managed to figure it out after some persistence. Here’s how I did it:
- Manual Setup: The key was to use manual setup. I had to go through several steps that weren’t immediately obvious.
- Device Discovery: The device wasn’t automatically detected, so I had to manually trigger the discovery process multiple times.
- Wi-Fi Connection: Connecting to the Amazon000 network was a crucial step. Once I did that, I could select my home network from the Alexa app.
- Troubleshooting: If you encounter the ‘purple ring of death,’ simply unplugging the device for a few seconds and restarting the setup process worked wonders for me.
