Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience in customizing my Echo Show 15 homepage. I’ve been using my Echo Show for a while now, but I was never quite satisfied with the default layout. It always seemed to show things I wasn’t really interested in, like random news articles or suggested music playlists. I wanted something more personalized and functional, especially since I use it as my main smart display in the living room.
Initially, I tried tweaking the settings through the Alexa app. I adjusted the preferences for what I wanted to see, like my calendar, shopping list, and sticky notes. But no matter how I set it up, the device kept showing a mix of things I didn’t really need. I was a bit frustrated because I felt like I was missing something obvious.
After some research, I found out that the Echo Show allows you to create custom layouts using a feature called Alexa Cards. These cards let you display specific information like your calendar, to-do lists, or even third-party apps. I decided to give this a try.
Here’s what I did:
-
Set Up Alexa Cards: I went into the Alexa app and navigated to the Cards section. From there, I selected the types of cards I wanted to display, such as my Google Calendar, shopping list, and sticky notes. I made sure to enable all the cards I wanted on my homepage.
-
Customize the Layout: Once the cards were set up, I used the Layout Editor tool in the Alexa app to arrange them exactly how I wanted. I placed my calendar at the top, followed by my shopping list and sticky notes. This way, everything I needed was right there on the homepage without any clutter.
-
Test and Adjust: After setting it up, I tested it out by restarting my Echo Show. It took a few moments, but eventually, my customized homepage loaded perfectly. I was thrilled to see that it was exactly what I wanted!
I also discovered that you can customize the layout further by changing the background color or adding separators between the cards. This really helped me make the interface look clean and organized.
Overall, I’m really happy with how it turned out. My Echo Show now serves as a functional and personalized smart display that fits seamlessly into my daily routine. If you’re struggling with your Echo Show’s homepage, I highly recommend exploring the Alexa Cards and Layout Editor features. They’re incredibly powerful and user-friendly!
I’d love to hear how others have customized their Echo Show layouts. Let me know in the comments if you have any tips or tricks!
Cheers,
