Successfully Integrating Bosch Heat Pump with Homey: A Comprehensive Guide

After extensive research and experimentation, I successfully integrated my Bosch heat pump with Homey using the BBQKees device based on the EMS-ESP project. This integration was initially challenging due to Bosch’s lack of a readily available API, but the EMS-ESP device proved to be a reliable solution.

The BBQKees device seamlessly connected to my heat pump, thermostat, and other components via the Bosch EMS bus. It provided nearly 300 values through REST, MQTT, and Modbus TCP, allowing for comprehensive monitoring and control. While there was a learning curve, especially with configuring parameters manually due to limited documentation, the end result was well worth the effort.

For those considering a similar setup, I recommend exploring the EMS-ESP GitHub repository for detailed instructions and community support. Although MQTT stability is still improving, the current integration has significantly enhanced my home automation experience.
