Successfully Integrating Broadlink and Home Assistant

Hi everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience integrating a Broadlink RM Pro with Home Assistant. I’ve been using Node-RED to learn RF codes, and it’s been a fantastic tool for automating my home. However, I recently encountered a hiccup when I tried the RF sweep mode on my Broadlink device—it got stuck with the orange learn light on, and wouldn’t respond to any commands. I tried unplugging it, resetting it, and even checking the Node-RED flows, but nothing seemed to work. After some research, I found that sometimes the RF sweep mode can cause the device to enter a loop. I ended up having to reset it, which wasn’t ideal, but it got my Broadlink back up and running smoothly. It’s a good reminder to always be cautious when experimenting with new features!

On another note, I’ve been exploring the Home Assistant Companion App and had some initial issues connecting it to my instance. After checking the logs and verifying my configuration, I realized that ensuring the correct URLs and credentials were set was crucial. It’s been a great app for on-the-go control, and I’m glad it’s working now. If anyone else is having trouble, I’d recommend double-checking your configuration and logs—sometimes the simplest things can trip us up!

Overall, I’m really enjoying the flexibility and power that Home Assistant offers. It’s amazing how much you can automate with the right setup. If anyone has tips or tricks for optimizing their setup, I’d love to hear them! Happy automating! :rocket:
