After a lot of trial and error, I finally managed to set up an automation that controls my ceiling fan using an Enbrighten Z-Wave fan switch. The fan is a remote-controlled model connected to my Bond Bridge with the entity ID fan.master_ceiling_fan_bond. The Enbrighten switch, with entity ID fan.master_ceiling_fan_switch, is powered but doesn’t control anything directly. Here’s how I made it work!
I created an automation that monitors the state of the Enbrighten switch and adjusts the Bond Bridge accordingly. Here’s the setup I used:
markdown
- Alias: Control Master Fan from Wall Switch
- Description: Syncs the wall switch with the ceiling fan
- Triggers: State change of
fan.master_ceiling_fan_switch - Conditions: None
- Actions: Adjust the fan speed based on the switch’s percentage
This automation has been a game-changer! Now, I can control the fan with the wall switch just like a regular fan. It’s so satisfying to see everything working seamlessly together. If anyone has questions or needs help setting this up, feel free to ask! ![]()
