Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent success in integrating my Foscam IP camera with Homey Pro. I’ve been trying to replicate some flows I had on OpenHAB, specifically using the motionDetectAlarm value from the camera’s XML output as a trigger. At first, I was a bit stuck, but after some research and trial and error, I figured it out!
Here’s what I did: I used Homey’s built-in XML parser to extract the motionDetectAlarm value from the camera’s response. Once I had that, setting up the flow was straightforward. Now, whenever motion is detected, I get a notification on my phone and my lights automatically turn on. It’s been working perfectly for the past week!
I’d love to hear if anyone else has similar setups or if there are other creative ways to use Foscam’s XML outputs in flows. Happy automating!
