I’m thrilled to share my recent success in integrating Google Assistant with my Wyze Garage Door Controllers! After months of anticipation, I finally achieved seamless voice control, and it’s nothing short of amazing. Here’s how I did it, in case anyone else is looking to make the same upgrade.
First, I noticed that my garage door controllers were being recognized as cameras in the Google Home app. That was a bit confusing, but I had a hunch there was a way to fix it. I decided to dive into the settings and see if I could manually adjust the device type. Turns out, it was simpler than I thought!
I went into the Wyze app, navigated to the garage door controller settings, and found an option to reset the PIN for Google Assistant integration. After setting a new 4-digit PIN, I repeated the process for my second garage door controller. The results were instantaneous and incredibly satisfying!
Now, I can simply say, ‘Hey Google, open Garage Door One,’ and watch as the door opens smoothly. The same goes for closing it. I even tested asking Google if the door was open, and it accurately reported its status. This level of integration is exactly what I was hoping for!
I’m now excited to explore further possibilities, like creating routines or even integrating this into a custom Google Action. The potential here is huge, and I can’t wait to see how this evolves. If anyone else has questions or wants to share their own experiences, I’d love to hear from you!
This achievement has really solidified my belief in the power of voice control and smart home integration. It’s these little wins that keep me passionate about exploring and enhancing my smart home setup. Cheers to Google Assistant and Wyze for making this possible!
