I’ve been on a journey to integrate my Govee lighting system with my Arlo security cameras, and I’m thrilled to share my success story! ![]()
For those who might be interested, here’s how I did it:
-
Setting Up the Govee Smart Lights: First, I paired my Govee LED strips with my Zigbee hub. It was a breeze thanks to the detailed instructions on the Govee app. The RGBIC color options are simply stunning, and I love how they set the mood in my living room.

-
Connecting Arlo Cameras: I’ve had my Arlo Essential cameras for a while now, and they’ve been a lifesaver for security. To integrate them with my Govee lights, I used IFTTT (now Make). Setting up the applet was straightforward: when motion is detected by Arlo, the Govee lights change to a vibrant red alert.

-
Testing the Integration: The first time I tested it, I was nervous but excited. I opened the door, and voilà! The lights flashed red, and I received an alert on my phone. It worked perfectly!

-
Customizing Further: I also added a routine where the lights dim to a soft blue when it’s time to relax in the evening. It’s these little touches that make home automation truly magical.

Tips for Others:
- Ensure all devices are on the same network.
- Test each component individually before integrating.
- Don’t hesitate to experiment with different color schemes and routines!
This integration has not only enhanced my home security but also added a touch of elegance to my daily life. If you’re thinking of trying something similar, I highly recommend it! ![]()
