Recently, I decided to switch to Homey to consolidate all my smart home devices under one platform. I’ve been using HiHome products for a while now, and I was excited to see if they would work seamlessly with Homey. However, the journey wasn’t as smooth as I hoped.
One of my main challenges was getting the HiHome Zigbee wireless switch and temperature & humidity sensor to show up in Homey. At first, I was frustrated because they were visible in the Tiya app but not in Homey. To ensure everything worked smoothly, I also adjusted the Zigbee settings in Homey to prioritize stability over speed. This helped maintain a consistent connection, especially with the temperature sensor, which now provides accurate readings without any lag.
