Recently, I decided to switch to Homey to consolidate all my smart home devices under one platform. I’ve been using HiHome products for a while now, and I was excited to see if they would work seamlessly with Homey. However, the journey wasn’t as smooth as I hoped.
One of my main challenges was getting the HiHome Zigbee wireless switch and temperature & humidity sensor to show up in Homey. At first, I was frustrated because they were visible in the Tiya app but not in Homey. After some research and trial and error, I discovered that not all HiHome devices are natively supported by Homey. This meant I had to look for alternative solutions or workarounds.
I stumbled upon a community thread where someone suggested using a third-party integration or checking for firmware updates. I decided to update the firmware for both my HiHome devices and Homey. Surprisingly, this made a significant difference! After the update, the devices became visible in Homey, and I was able to pair them without any issues.
To ensure everything worked smoothly, I also adjusted the Zigbee settings in Homey to prioritize stability over speed. This helped maintain a consistent connection, especially with the temperature sensor, which now provides accurate readings without any lag.
For anyone else looking to integrate HiHome devices into their Homey setup, I recommend checking for firmware updates first and ensuring your Zigbee settings are optimized. It’s also worth exploring community forums for additional tips and solutions. Happy integrating! ![]()
