After some trial and error, I finally managed to connect my Hive Active bulbs to my SmartThings hub without needing a Hive hub! I wanted to share my experience in case anyone else is struggling with the same issue.
First, I made sure my SmartThings app was up to date. Then, I went into the ‘Add Device’ section and selected ‘Smart Appliances’ as the device type. After that, I manually entered the MAC address of my Hive bulb. It took a few tries, but eventually, the bulb was recognized and paired successfully.
One thing I noticed was the importance of having the bulb within range and in ‘discoverable’ mode. I had to reset the bulb a couple of times before it showed up in the app. Once connected, I could control it through the app and even set up some basic automations.
