Hi everyone, I’m thrilled to share my recent success in integrating Homematic devices into my OpenHAB setup. While the journey had its challenges, the outcome was well worth the effort. Let me walk you through my experience in case it helps others facing similar issues.First, I wanted to add Homematic to my existing OpenHAB setup on a Raspberry Pi 3. I installed the Homematic binding via Paper UI, but unfortunately, I encountered an Error 500 message. Initially, I was a bit puzzled. I double-checked the IP address of my Homematic CCU, ensuring it was correct, and confirmed that the XML-RPC API was activated under the firewall settings in the Homematic Web UI. Despite these steps, the issue persisted. After some research, I discovered that sometimes the firewall settings might not be fully configured. I revisited the Homematic Web UI and made sure that the XML-RPC API was set to ‘Full Access.’ This small adjustment made a big difference! The binding finally connected without any issues. For those looking to integrate Homematic devices, here are a few tips:1. Double-Check Firewall Settings: Ensure that the XML-RPC API is not only activated but also set to 'Full Access.'2. Verify IP Addresses: Confirm that the IP address of your Homematic CCU is correctly entered in OpenHAB.3. Restart Services: If issues persist, consider restarting both the Homematic CCU and your OpenHAB instance. This experience taught me the importance of thorough configuration and the value of community support. It’s amazing how a simple oversight can cause such frustration, but with persistence, everything falls into place.I’m now enjoying seamless integration of my Homematic devices, and it’s a fantastic addition to my smart home ecosystem.
