Hello fellow Swiss smart home enthusiasts! I wanted to share a little success story that I had today with integrating my Integra Aquaradio Smart Water Meter into my Home Assistant setup. It’s always a relief when a project comes together smoothly, especially when dealing with hardware and software integration!
I live in Vaud, Switzerland, and after some research, I decided to purchase the Integra Aquaradio Smart Meter along with a nanoCUL M-Bus Adapter. I was a bit nervous about the installation process, but I have to say, it went far more smoothly than I expected!
Here’s a quick rundown of what I did:
- Installed the wmbusmeters HA Add-on: I found this add-on on GitHub, and it seemed to be the perfect solution for connecting my meter to Home Assistant.
- Plugged in the nanoCUL Adapter: Once the add-on was installed, I simply plugged in the nanoCUL and forwarded the USB to my Home Assistant VM.
- Started the Add-on: With a few clicks, the add-on was up and running, and I could see some initial telegrams from my meter!
- Configured via the Add-on WebUI: The best part was that no key was even required! The setup was seamless, and before I knew it, my MQTT device showed up in Home Assistant!
I was prepared for a long troubleshooting session, but everything worked out perfectly. It’s amazing how much time and frustration this setup saved me. I can now monitor my water usage in real-time, which is a huge plus for being more mindful of consumption.
I’d like to give a huge shoutout to the team behind the wmbusmeters project. Their work has made integrating smart meters so much easier for users like me. It’s projects like these that really showcase the power of open-source communities!
If anyone else in Switzerland is looking to integrate a smart water meter, I’d highly recommend this setup. It’s user-friendly, efficient, and has made my smart home setup even more complete. Happy tinkering, everyone! ![]()
